Watching the video a few times, it's a little hard to tell which one really does a better job because the model (@annasarandi) seems to be at different distances for either camera with the Sony camera having Anna at a closer focus distance which is easier for the camera to perform eye detect. However, the fact that it's difficult to tell which one does a better job is a good testament to how quickly Canon has essentially caught up to the latest and greatest Sony camera. Xing commented in the comments that the hit rate between the two cameras is basically the same, leading to confirmation of the eye test (pun clearly intended) that the two cameras eye AF is pretty similar now.
