Richard CanonNews / Friday, September 10, 2021 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless The R3 comes in at *just under* 6,000 I guess the market for Kidneys just got better Nokishita has released US pricing, and unfortunately, our educated guess was wrong. So much for optimism! Now - that's just an American retailer as the source, it could still be that they have the price wrong, but it's pretty unlikely at this time. The US price of the R3 is going to be $5999. Gulp. Am I personally happy with this? Not particularly. But it still sits under the Sony A1 which is $6500 ($6850 with the grip). The R3 has to have better performance than the Sony A1, as the A1 shoots 8K and 50MP images, and the R3 needs to make up for those differences. It's a tougher sell especially if you are focal length starved as the A1 will out-telephoto the R3 handily. I personally felt there should be more of a price gap between those two cameras. What this also means to me, is that I don't think we are going to see a true 1 series camera, aka the R1 for a while. But like everything it seems in the RF mount if you want professional-grade - you're going to have to pay for it.
