New flash rumored aimed at small cameras and mirrorless

As we theorized when the flash showed up for certification, it certainly seems like it could be a small 270EX replacement which would suit small cameras and mirrorless.

The rumor suggests;

We’re told that the new flash that recently showed up for certification will be geared towards smaller cameras and mirrorless shooters, but give prosumer level features.

The flash was supposed to be announced in the summer of 2017, but has been delayed for unknown reasons. We would expect it is going to be announced alongside the Canon EOS M50 in January or February of 2018.

The Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT is quite small, but it may not be small enough for some EOS M shooters.

the 270EX is a nice size for an EOS-M styled camera, or the smaller rebels - it will be interesting to see what Canon decides to do here.  I'm not so sure we'll see the M50 announced in January or Feburary - we haven't seen the camera body certification yet, and we most likely would have if it was coming out that soon.

Time wil tell!
