The rumors are suggesting that both of these lenses that are certainly due for release (the 50mm 1.4 is one of Canon's oldest remaining lenses) in 2018, that they are more leaning towards a later half of 2018 release for the 50mm and sometime after the first quarter of 2018 for the telephoto zoom. It actually wouldn't suprise me to see a long telephoto zoom release with the 7D Mark III, and it certainly wouldn't surprise me to see that before the Winter Olympic games being held at PyeongChang, or FIFA 2018, held in Russia next summer. Both of those events are high profile for sports shooting lenses and camera bodies.
