Canon Patent Application: APS-C Mirrorless/Compact Lenses This will probably illicit some groans and dismay however Canon has applied for a mirrorless APS-C patent with a ton of embodiments; To provide a zoom lens in which a high optical performance can be easily obtained over the entire zoom range and the entire surface while the whole is small and wide angle of view is provided. The lenses demonstrated include; 18-50 2.8-5.6 15-45 2.8-5.6 18-50 2.0-5.6 15-45 2.0-5.0 15-45 2.0-5.6 These could either be used for the EF-M mount or for an APS-C Compact camera. I suspect because of some of the close backfocus numbers, that these may be for an compact more than the EF-M mount.
