Canon Patent Application: High Speed Shutter

In this patent application, Canon discusses the design of a shutter that works with an electronic first curtain shutter to provide a high-speed shutter with minimal shutter shock.  Could something like this be in the R5? We do know it has a mechanical shutter rated at 12fps.  It seems as if this patent application is about a shutter that works entirely with EFCS and not a mechanical first curtain, which sounds to me more a mirrorless shutter.

the electronic front curtain and the mechanical rear curtain are set as one set, and the exposure is performed by the electronic front curtain and the mechanical rear curtain traveling from top to bottom, and the exposure is performed by the electronic front curtain and the mechanical rear curtain traveling from bottom to top. A shutter with a configuration is conceivable. When these exposures are performed alternately, the stabilization time of the blade can be saved and the frame speed can be increased.

..

According to the shutter device according to the present invention, in the electronic front curtain dedicated reciprocating exposure shutter, in order to keep the opening open, a configuration provided with a mechanical holding phase by the cam gear However, the average charging time for one sequence can be shortened, and the frame speed can be increased as much as possible.

The mechanical drawings describe the shutter assembly in detail.
