Canon R50V Preliminary Specifications The preliminary specifications for the Canon EOS R50V have been leaked out via CanonRumors, and it certainly seems like it's around the size of the Canon EOS M6 Mark II. What's curious about this is that Canon uses the "50" numerical while drastically changing the camera body, which is somewhat unusual for Canon to do. The R50 V camera is very light at 370g, around the same specification weight as the M6 Mark II, which weighed 361g. The image stabilization seems odd, but I wonder if they mean electronic instead of in-camera image stabilization. With a 370g weight, I would not expect to see IBIS, as Canon has not put that on any light camera to date. CanonRumors expects the camera to retail at around $649, which places it at the lower end of the price point for Canon RF cameras. This camera does not surprise me much, as the R100 was a sales disaster for Canon, unable to penetrate the market in sufficient quantities as the digital rebels of the past used to. We will see what this camera looks like tomorrow; it will be a very interesting day!
