Preorders aren't announced yet, but I suspect we'll see B&H and Adorama start something soon.

While it was first announced in 2020, it was far more than just another mirrorless camera. It was a statement from Canon, demonstrating its ability to dominate the high-end mirrorless market, just as it had dominated the DSLR world. We discussed tariffs back in April , and yes, it seems to be happening now.  Most items seemed to have increased around $200-$400, but the oddest had to be the EOS-R3 which increased from $3999 to $5399.

Canon will also showcase its suite of control units and capabilities for remote cameras used for broadcasting, probably with an eye on the FIFA games in 2026.

The tariffs are 24% on any goods originating from Japan.

These tariffs are expected to go into place on April 9th, 2025, barring any intervention by the US Government.
