Canon has in the past applied for a patent application for an APS-C 15-70mm F/4 (Japan Patent Number 7770854 ), so we'll talk about this for a bit. It will give us an idea of what Canon is perhaps thinking about. ...

<dc:identifier>bae2b87f-50b7-4b10-b617-288436724cb1-2846</dc:identifier>

Richard @ CanonNews

Canon EOS R7 Mark II Rumors

New rumors are running through the internet, and to be honest, part of me feels reporting on them is simply clickbait since we know so little at this time. The latest rumors seem to indicate that the sensor for the new EOS R7 Mark II will be stacked. This is both a blessing and a curse if true.

One of the only issues with the R7's sensor was its readout speed, so it's not exactly a state secret that Canon would be looking at improving the speed of the sensor. Canon has quite a few ...

<dc:identifier>bae2b87f-50b7-4b10-b617-288436724cb1-2818</dc:identifier>

Richard @ CanonNews

The R7 Mark II revisited or is it Déjà vu?

I recently read an article detailing the latest rumors on the R7 Mark II, and it seemed to be quite familar to me, so had had to go back and read my thoughts on the R7 Mark II from a month ago.

40MP seems a stretch if Canon wants to increase the readout speed, or frames per second, while Canon can do both at the same time, they don't usually do so. Remember, there's already a R7 Mark III in the works even while we wait for the R7 Mark II.

Sometime. I always thought that the original rumour of it arriving late last year didn't make much sense at the time, and its progressive delay seems to put it back into the regular schedule of 3 years or so between camera releases. I wouldn't be surprised to see it late this year, which would make it 3 years, or even in the spring of 2026.

Like all other manufacturers, Canon makes money by selling goods, not services, so to maximize that, new items have to be continually churned out, which leaves the APS-C lineup to work on.

What will the R7 look like?

What's curious about this is that Canon uses the "50" numerical while drastically changing the camera body, which is somewhat unusual for Canon to do.

I believe that this is all inventory management. Canon seems to be attempting to manage just in time inventory. So they'll push it back in the schedule if they feel they can't produce enough new items because of the supply of materials, parts or simply factory production schedules.

Looking at the picture, it seems as if it is going to come with it’s own lens with power zoom (the T-W on the side of the lens gives that away), and there’s a lever on the shutter button that I would presume is the zoom lever.

They were told that it's similar to the M6 Mark II (so I would imagine no EVF) and features a new type of articulating LCD.

It would seem strange to see a new type of LCD on this camera since Canon's usual fully articulating LCD is most suited for video, versus photography. An LCD that flips up (similar to the current M6 Mark II design) usually gets in the way of ...

<dc:identifier>bae2b87f-50b7-4b10-b617-288436724cb1-2578</dc:identifier>
