Today, a new rumor was published examining whether Canon will equip its anticipated new PowerShot cameras with a fresh image sensor.

According to the rumor, an entirely new sensor will be equipped and will not reuse the 1.4-type sensor equipped in the V1. It will be smaller than the 1.4-type but will be a “more advanced” one. It is speculated that this sensor will be adopted in multiple PowerShot models.

This will make it the third concept camera that Canon has crowdfunded.

The Powershot PICK is supposed to be controlled by AI, which will automatically detect people's faces, changes to the scene, and when it is a good moment to take a photo. If this works well, it's bound to be popular. Imagine having this at a birthday party where you just sit it ...

<dc:identifier>bae2b87f-50b7-4b10-b617-288436724cb1-2244</dc:identifier>

Richard CanonNews

New Rumor: Canon G9X Mark III coming soon

According to CanonRumors , the G9X Mark III is next up to get updated by Canon. Canon has been pretty half-heartedly updating the G series camera bodies, but the last round of updates to the G7X Mark IV certainly made it more competitive in the marketplace.

The G9X Mark III should carry on the tradition of being a very small pocketable 1" camera and mostly will carry the same core features of the G7X Mark IV.

These specifications are said to include;

 20.1mp
 DIGIC 8

They are assuming because it's a digital stills video camera, and rather small, that this is the IVY REC that Canon crowdfunded for. The colors are blue, green and pink, which provider further confirmation it's the IVY REC because that's the colors that Canon has listed for it.

The G7X Mark III is expected to be released at a price of $749. This is a small jump from the G7X Mark II that was released in February of 2016 for around $699.

This explains how Canon was able to achieve 30 fps.

We know very little about the G7X Mark III.

Prior rumors have suggested that this will contain a 1" sensor with DPAF, which would make this possibly Canon made.

Other than that, details are lacking.

We should start hearing credible leaks with regards to specifications and a more firm release date soon.

This in front (I presume) of the G7 X Mark III that seems to have been put on hold.

The G5X came out in October 2015, so it's certainly due for an upgrade.

It's unknown if this would simply be a processor and 4K'ing of the powershot cameras, or if something bigger is happening, such as a new 1" sensor from Canon that has been rumored for a while now.

The source doesn't know what the camera is, howver the source goes on to surmise that it could be either a Powershot or an EOS-M.

I would be more likely to be inclined to think that it would be a powershot camera if one is coming out for May, versus an EOS-M camera. Of course, it could be an EOS-M camera that has been "M50-ed" much like the SL3. The SL3 simply added 4K video via a new DIGIC 8 processor to ...

<dc:identifier>bae2b87f-50b7-4b10-b617-288436724cb1-1278</dc:identifier>
