New camera appears in certification

A new camera has appeared in certification, and it's most likely a Rebel DSLR, or an EOS RF low end camera.

What it isn't though, is an EOS-M camera.

The model number is DS126821.   Canon does not use model number starting with DS for their EOS-M systems, those start with "PC".  So we know it's a DSLR or RF camera using an LP-E17.  As of right now, those cameras are;

  • Rebel T7i - Announced February 2017
  • 77D - Announced February 2017
  • SL3 - Announced April 2019
  • RP - Announced February 2019

Likely what we are seeing it the start of the next rebel refresh coming out.  The Rebel 77D and T7i were released in February 2017, so they are due for an update that includes 4K and some form of liveview eyeAF similar to what the SL3 got in terms of an upgrade.
