Canon Patent Application: Canon RF 24-70mm Kit lens

One thing I'd love is a nice small kit lens for the RF system. This lens seems to fit the bill as it describes a 24-70mm kit lens with variable aperture.

Unfortunately as with most of Canon's lens patents for the RF mount, making it small comes with a cost, and this cost is wide-angle performance as the lens has to stretch the image circle.

Some of the embodiments are shown below essentially this lens is around 80mm in lenght.   Consider that the 24-105 kit lens is 115mm, this is around 35mm smaller in length.  So nice and compact.
