A bunch of Mirrorless lenses in this patent application

It's always interesting to see what Canon is at least thinking is patentable as far as optical designs, and it always gives us some hints about what they may be working on in the future.

This patent has a slew of slower APS-C zooms, and an intriguing full frame mirrorless prime.

  • 18-50mm 3.5-7.1
  • 11-22mm 4.0-5.6
  • 9-18mm 4.0-5.6
  • 15-70mm 2.8-5.0

The curious one of the list is this:

  • 10mm 2.8 full frame

All the embodiments have short back focus and APS-C (or the one full frame) image heights.  While I can't see many of them making to production, I'd certainly like to see the 9-18 in the same vien as the 11-22mm.
