EOS R, RF, EF and EF-M lenses to be announced

Nokishita has heard that the following camera and lenses are to be announced soon. It looks like Canon is launching the R with a nice set of lenses to start with.  I wonder if they will do like Nikon and show a roadmap as well?

Still no specifications on the EOS R, as Canon has clamped this announcement down impressively.

  • EOS R body
  • EOS R 24105 kit
  • RF 35 mm F 1.8 M Macro IS STM
  • RF 50 mm F 1.2 L USM
  • RF 28 - 70 mm F 2 L USM
  • RF 24 - 105 mm F4 L USM
  • EF-M 32 mm F 1.4 STM
  • EF 400 mm F 2.8 L III
  • EF 600 mm F4 L III

It also appears as if there may be three possible adapters

  • M adapter R?
    • Since only "M.ADAP R" "M.ADAP R ND" "M.ADAP R PL" is written in the simple order form, the official name is unknown

All in all an excellent set of products are coming to Photokina,  I'm a little surprisd that the 32mm is the only lens that has IS and none of others do, however this could be M for macro, and IS for hybrid IS which may still be necessary or warranted even with IBIS.

As we surmised yesterday, does sound like the EF mount and RF mount are the same because there is no RF to EF adapter, only an EOS-M to RF adapter.

We will update this article throughout the day, check back often.

Update:

We now have heard of the possibility of  BG-E22 battery grip for the camera and a unknown accessory, the PD-E1

The name has been confirmed for the 35mm as 35mm IS Macro STM
