Richard CanonNews / Friday, September 27, 2019 / Categories: Rumors, Canon DSLR Canon Wireless file transmitter discovered via Certification Nokishita has found an update to the Canon wireless file transmitter Canon WFT-E8A. They also, like us, assume this is a harbinger of the 1DX Mark III as it will most certainly have a new external transmitter. For some reason, Canon is loathed to put wireless capability into the 1 series. The old adapter, the E8A, for the 1DX Mark II supports Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac which seems to be the same as the new model. Odds are the various SKUs are for wireless transmission localities. Nokishita has reported the certifications as; DS586191 (DS586192 / DS586193 / DS586194) Wireless file transmitter Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11a / b / g / n / ac) compatible Also, Nokishita mentions two lenses SKU's they are probably the Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM and the Canon RF 85mm F1.2L DS that have yet to be released this year. SKU: 3450C005AA, 3792C005AA Side Note: I noticed today that some are stating that these are SKU's for the 1DX Mark III. No. Since the 1DX Mark III will most likely not get wireless (because of an external transmitter) Canon wouldn't have to send the camera around for worldwide WIFI certification. Also, the SKU's are not Canon EOS camera SKU's which start with "DSC" not "DS". These are not for the camera themselves.
