Richard CanonNews / Monday, January 20, 2020 / Categories: Rumors, Canon DSLR, Canon Mirrorless Major Canon announcements in February and May As we have expected all along, we have confirmation from Canon Rumors that Canon will have some major announcements happening in February and May. Why these months? Because of the CP+ show at the end of February, and PhotoKina with its first end of May show starting this year. The rumor suggests that the first camera out will be the Canon RF high megapixel camera that we've coined as the EOS Rs. For the May release, it's a bit of an unknown at this time, another rumor source from Canon Rumors suggests this may be a low MP Canon RF camera similar to the A7S line. If so, I would expect Canon to re-use the 20MP sensor that is in the 1DX Mark III - since it's obvious that they can downsample from it for excellent 4K. More to come, but if we do have a February release on the high megapixel camera, I would expect to start seeing serious leaks in the next couple of weeks. We also expect both of these cameras to feature Canon's first IBIS units. If you have been following along, we have been reporting IBIS + IS in patents for the last 6+ months.
