This latest rumor suggests that the next Canon RF F2.0 trinity lens is a 16-28mm. That would make in our estimation the Trinity be the 16-28, 28-70 and 70-125mm. While the 16-35 F2.0 is certainly a doable lens, I wouldn't be surprised if the range isn't a little less than what we are used to seeing out of the F2.8's such as what the 28-70 did, as well, as a future telezoom, which would have to be in the range of a 70-125 to a 70-150mm, just for the sake of size and cost. While we haven't seen a patent application appear yet for such a lens, it could still be in the works, simply not published yet. As Canon Rumors states on this rumor, "We’ve been told that the next f/2 zoom from Canon will be an RF 16-28mm f/2L USM, which will fit nicely with the RF 28-70mm f/2L USM." That seems to fit into the mold of lowering the zoom range and moving the maximum aperture to F2.0 Time will tell, however, I'm finding myself hoping that Canon will counter these halo lenses with some nice small and light IS STM lenses for the masses for the RF system as well.
