Tamron pulled out all the stops on this lens. From Christopher; The lens is ridiculously sharp with excellent contrast even with bright lights are in your picture. The character of the images is quite lovely and understated, and it's bokeh really is soft. There's nothing wrong with its build quality either. Although, it doesn't lend itself as well to video work as sigma's new 35mm.
