Canon China posts about a new product launch Canon China posted a teaser on weibo today suggesting a new product launch on February 24. There are certainly some products coming out from Canon as this is the traditional period when the camera manufacturers announce products for the early year trade shows such as CP+ and UK's Photography Show. The word on the post machine translates into something like "your new friend who has been waiting for a long time is finally coming." While there is some online speculation about R7, a cheaper R camera, or the telephoto lenses the 800 and 1200, care should be noted that this could be just about anything that Canon makes, and Canon makes a lot of different products to sell to the Asian markets. Comments on Weibo suggest that it could also be simply the R5C which hasn't been launched yet in China.
