This has been originally rumored as being released with the R5. It is supposed to offer some unique features. We suspect that it may be Canon's first Speedlite with continuous lighting based upon a patent we discovered. However, we sincerely hope that it doesn't have any overheating issues. Really. From Nokishita, who discovered the certification from Russian authorities, not much is known at this time. It's closing in on the August / September announcement schedule for Canon, so we suspect that this may get released during the upcoming announcement schedule. One thing I'm unsure about - and maybe this requires Nokishita to explain these images is why is the 470EX-AI mentioned in the image. However, the product number for this flash seems to be DS401231, which is different than the DS401141 470EX-AI, so even though it's confusing, it certainly appears as if it's a new flash, and just not a certification of an existing product.
