New mention of the Astro landscape dream lens We discovered this patent a while back and haven't seen Canon do anything with it .. yet, but it's always a lens that would be a game chaser for those folks that do astro-landscape, where the world revolves around the 500 rule and the faster the lens, the longer the shutter speed. Could this be it? Maybe.. CanonRumors reports; I have been told to expect a “world’s first” wide-angle zoom lens from Canon in the next few months, the official announcement date and shipping date are unknown at this time. The source claims that a Canon RF 14-21mm f/1.4L USM is currently being tested by select photographers. While this isn't really a lens that I would be after, I know this will be a game-changer for quite a few.
