New Rumor: The R7 may be the next camera released

We've been hearing about the R7 for a while now, and I truly think this camera is coming.  However, what this camera means is well, Canon just wants a camera out there for the telephoto "reach" people.   With Canon's advanced AF now, the timing is right for sports, birding, high pixel density crop camera to serve those niches.

Without a series of crop lenses, this camera is dead in the water to seriously take on Sony, Fuji, or even Nikon's APS-C mirrorless lineup.

We haven't heard any specifications, but I would presume it would be what the EOS-M folks wanted for the M5 Mark II; 32MP sensor, IBIS, and all the bells and whistles that the M6 Mark II had and more.

According to CanonRumors a reliable source states that this camera could come as early as March.

Of course with anything these days, supply chain issues can delay releases, or even switch the order of releases depending on Canon's ability to manufacture the camera.
