Richard CanonNews / Monday, July 8, 2019 / Categories: News, Canon General News Nikkei releases global marketshare numbers Nikkei has released their analysis of the global marketshare (from behind a paywall) for what was most likely for 2018, and it has Canon 40.5% Nikon 19.1% Sony 17.7% Fujifilm 5.1% Olympus 2.8% They note that the sales quantity was 20.9 million, so I suspect this is not just ILC's but Digital cameras including compacts. Looking through their data, they no longer report on ILC's, as they did in years past. I'm also not sure where they are getting their +/- numbers from, as from before, their overall Digital Camera marketshare for 2017 was; Canon 43.4% Nikon 25.7% Sony 20% Which this would seem to indicate to me, losses in marketshare all around, with Nikon having the largest losses and Canon second slightly above Sony.
