Canon Patent Application: A smaller camcorder I realized I don't give much love to video patents, I tend to glance over them and decide to not publish. However, here's one that shows an upcoming camcorder that is size optimized around the lens and pickup microphones. This has to do with the control ring around the lens, and picking up the signals of it turning, and making that more optimal for size and making the overall length smaller. I think. As with all patent applications, this may not ever come to actual market as a product, but it's a highly detailed camcorder diagram so there's a good chance that Canon is serious about this patent application.
