Canon RF super telephoto zoom coming in 2020?

A new rumor from Canon Rumors suggests that a Canon RF 100-400 may be coming in 2020 for the RF mount, however, it may not be the legacy 100-400 that we are used of seeing, but a 200-500 instead.

Canon Rumors also goes on to mention that the EF mount 200-500 had its development halted as Canon changed their focus to Canon RF lenses.  Note that Canon Rumors suggests that development halted on the Canon EF 200-500, not all super telephotos as I notice one website suggesting.

A super telephoto zoom would certainly be welcome for the Canon RF mount which only sports an 85mm as the longest lens for the RF mount to date, even though a Canon RF 70-200 F2.8L IS USM is coming later on this year.  A 100-400 in most cases would be a more practical lens than a 200-500. It would be smaller, most likely lighter and allow for coverage from a standard zoom to telephoto in one lens.  Personally, I can't see a 200-500 replacing the 100-400 standard super telephoto zoom, but more of an augmentation.
