Canon EOS R6 announcement postponed until July CanonRumors today states that according to two different sources the announcement for the EOS R6 is going to be delayed until July. Strangely enough, this actually makes sense. Canon sometimes announces a low cost camera body in June / July timeframe, but hardly ever in May. This would explain why we haven't heard much about this camera body lately. With COVID affecting Japan headquarters, it is unknown if Canon is facing problems getting it ready, or if they are just now in no rush with no longer any PhotoKina or Olympics running this year. According to CanonRumors the specifications of the R6 are expected to be; 20mp full-frame CMOS sensor (not the same as the 1DX Mark III) IBIS 12fps mechanical and 20fps electronic 4K @ 60p FullHD @ 120p Dual card slots No top-down screen Lower resolution EVF than the EOS R5 Build quality not as good as the EOS R5 New battery (Not sure if it’s the same as the EOS R5) CanonRumors Richard CanonNewsRichard CanonNews Richard has been using Canon cameras since the 1990s, with his first being the now legendary EOS-3.
