Canon Patent Application: EF-M kit zoom improvements
This patent application discusses a variety of kit zooms for the EF-M mount. This patent is mostly trying to achieve excellent optical performance, and a low amount of vignetting in the extremities.

Also, if the angle of incidence of the off-axis light beam on the image pickup element is large, shading (color shading) and lack of peripheral light amount occur, so that it is required to be a zoom lens having good telecentricity on the image side.
