Canon Patent Applications: Another Canon RF super telephoto application

Canon around September 2017 created a flurry of patent applications for Canon super telephoto lenses.  This latest patent application which was published today shows again different optical designs for Canon RF super telephoto lenses.

As with most super telephoto patent applications, the primary concern is reduction chromatic and lateral chromatic aberrations when also attempting to reduce the weight of the lens.

This patent application illustrates only the 500 and 600mm super telephoto lenses as shown below;
