Canon Patent Applications for Stacked CMOS Sensors

This week we had alot of excitement around some big and highlighted patents on their own separate entries.

Not including those there was some patents in which we were interested in and felt we could summarize those in this article. These patents deal with Canon's continuation to work on stacked sensors.

Japan Patent Application 2018-56580 

This patent application deals with a stacked BSI sensor design and deals with supplying consistent power across the two substrates.

Japan Patent Application 2018-057004

This patent application deals with stacking a DPAF sensor to provide better control over focus operations versus imaging operations and still providing a high degree of image sensitivity.
