Canon RF 35mm 1.8 IS STM Sample Gallery

Dpreview has released their sample gallery of the Canon RF 35mm 1.8 IS STM.

The Canon RF 35mm 1.8 IS STM Macro is possibly the first of 3 IS STM Macro lenses that Canon may actually create as we discovered the patent applications for the 28mm and the 50mm as well with similar optical formulae and characteristics here.

You may get better results in actual use than dpreview demonstrates because of a simple "rule" that dpreview uses that uncharacteristically punishes lenses and systems that do not automatically bake lens corrections into RAW or into adobe conversions.

Canon JPEG + DLO or even normal lens corrections will give better default results than what dpreview shows.  In a way I wish that dpreview would show sample performance using default tools and capabilities to level the playing field.

The Canon RF 35mm 1.8 is an excellent lens, especially when you consider it's size and price.
