Rumor: Two new big white lenses to come this Photokina?
A new rumor has made it's rounds that Canon will announce the third generation of it's supertelephotos by releasing two of the four big whites (300,400,500,600mm) before PhotoKina this September.
Canon Rumors states;
Canon will be announcing two new “big white” lenses ahead of Photokina in September. While we do not know the exact focal length of which lenses are coming, we now know that they are version III lenses, so that means two of the EF 300 f/2.8L IS II, EF 400 f/2.8L IS II, EF 500 f/4L IS II and EF 600 f/4L IS II are going to see an update very soon.
A further weight reduction would be nice to see especially with Sony's 400mm 2.8 being lighter and also better balanced. However it's hard to say just how much better these optically excellent super telephotos could be made. ASC or Air Sphere Coatings may make their introduction into Canon's super telephotos as well, as it now has appeared in several other of Canon's top zoom lenses.
More to come..
