Some more organic sensor patent applications

Is an organic sensor in Canon's long term plans?

It's hard to say but they continue to experiment and apply for patents dealing with organic sensors.

However none of these patents have seemingly gone anywhere - time will tell.

These patents again, deal with the organic chemicals needed to provide the photoelectric conversion of the pixel.

Japan Patent Application 2017-157731

To provide an organic photoelectric conversion element which has good photoelectric conversion efficiency in the entire visible light region and high stability of the element itself.

Japan Patent Application 2017-174921

To provide an organic photoelectric conversion element with improved photoelectric conversion efficiency and a reduced dark current.

Japan Patent Application 2017-165708

To provide an organic compound that reduces a change in the absorption spectrum of an electrochromic (EC) element due to a change in environmental temperature compared to the conventional art.
