Wireless File transmitter Registered for the Canon R5

Kind of a curious registration, as a Taiwan registration was discovered by Nokishita for a wireless file transmitter DS58622[1,2,3,4,5].  This accessory was listed in conjunction with the DS126831 camera, which we have discovered to be the EOS R5.

If anyone wanted to suggest that this camera was "more" than a 5 series camera, I guess this would be some of the proof, as usually only Canon's 1 series get an external file transmitter.  The external file transmitter has a longer range than the wifi communication inside of the camera.  This accessory also adds a LAN cable connection for the R5, something studios will love with the camera's 8K and 45MP images.

There is, of course, a logical explanation as to why Canon would have created a wifi adapter for the EOS R5, and that is so that it would have the same connectivity as the 1DX Mark III for the 2020 Olympics.  We know that Canon was intending to have the Olympics as a showcase for the 1DX Mark III and also the R5, especially with its 8K video.  It would stand to reason that Canon would have wanted the same connectivity for both cameras.

The registration information is shown below:

We still await word on more information about the R5, I'm still expecting we'll hear something this month unless Canon HQ has been significantly disrupted by COVID-19.
