Canon Patent Application: Canon EF-S Zoom lens

In this patent application, we see that Canon is developing another EF-S APS-C lens.  Yes, no joke ;)

Of course, it doesn't mean it will ever come to fruition, however, they were actively researching this lens back in early 2018 when this patent application was filed.

This patent application is for another EF-S 55-250mm F4-F5.6 lens.

focal length 56.47 125.07 241.01
F number 4.16 5.00 5.88

Total lens length 149.42 174.57 186.81

Also, perhaps more intriguingly is an APS-C lens design for a 70-300mm which is hardly any larger than a 55-250mm
