Canon Patent Application: New CINI Camera appears In this patent application, Canon is looking at different ways of venting heat from it's CINI line of cameras. To illustrate the new air flow, they have designed a camera that looks very similar to the C200, but is not the C200. It's also not as modular as Canon's latest higher in the lineup CINI Cameras either. Going by the diagrams it's also definately an EF mount camera. Could this be a C200 Mark II? it would seem unlikely as the C200 is only going on 3 years old next year. Could it also be a C100 replacement? That fabled unicorn? The button layout and controls seem to indicate a higher level of cinima camera so most likely not. We could be seeing the start of a C200 Mark II that is still a year or more away from completion. The gist of this patent application is to direct the hot air flow to other areas, and not near the user. Since the air inlet and the air outlet are arranged on the side surface of the imaging device, the chimney effect cannot be used when performing natural heat dissipation. In addition, since there is an exhaust port on the side surface of the imaging device, there is a possibility that the image is exhausted toward the user during shooting.
