Firmare update for Godox flashes for cameras without the centerpin

Recently it was noted that Canon changed the hotshoe when they released the SL3.  While this is not uncommon among the cheapest of Canon's camera, it was new for the SL series of camera bodies.

It actually surprised me that an E-TTL compatible flash such as the Godox's does not work without the center pin, I would assume it was just one of those things that never occurred to them.  Well, now they do.  Godex released a firmware update to their flashes that makes them work with the other cameras that don't have the flash center pin, so the assumption here is that it supports the SL3 as well.

It should also be noted, that this firmware update solves some compatibility issues with the Godox flashes and the EOS R as well.

Godox flashes are extremely sophisticated and a good low-cost alternative to Canon speedlights and accessories.  You can browse the list of available products here.

Download the firmware updates here.

Godox states;

Further content of the previous post under the subject of compatibility with new Canon entry camera:
The main Godox TTL camera flashes for Canon camera TT350C, V350C, V860IIC, and TT685C are now able to be compatible with the Canon EOS 1500D/ EOS 2000D/EOS Rebel T7/Canon EOS 3000D/EOS 4000D through upgraded firmware. These Canon New Entry-Level DSLRs remove x-connector on their hot-shoe, different from the Canon DSLR cameras that have the x-sync connector on their hot-shoe.

Apart from the flashes, Godox TTL triggers X1C and XPro C can fully support Canon cameras that have the x-sync connector on their hot-shoe and furthermore these triggers are compatible with the Canon EOS 1500D/ EOS 2000D/EOS Rebel T7/Canon EOS 3000D/EOS 4000D.

The new released Godox V1 and the upcoming trigger X2 fully support all the Canon cameras mentioned above.

In short, Godox main TTL camera flashes and Godox TTL trigger for Canon version allow you to work with Canon DSLR cameras with their x-sync connector on the hot-shoe and also connect with new models Canon EOS 1500D/ EOS 2000D/EOS Rebel T7/Canon EOS 3000D/EOS 4000D( those models removed the central pin on hot shoes).

Please download the firmware upgrade program from our website to update your program if necessary: http://www.godox.com/EN/Download.html

Corresponding firmware program about the Godox products' compatibility of new released Canon EOS 250D/EOS Rebel SL3 will be provided as soon as possible. We will keep you informed. Thank you for your patience.
