New rumors today: Full frame mirrorless and 400mm 2.8L IS III..
Two new rumors have surfaced today dealing with Canon's plans for around PhotoKina.
Apparently one of the two super telephoto lenses to be announced soon will be the 400mm 2.8L IS III. According to Canon Rumors,
A different source than the original is telling us that one of the lenses to be announced will be an EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III.
The second big white to be replaced is still unknown at this time
On the full frame mirrorless front, we are hearing more that Canon won't announce anything for Photokina but will announce in October. This would make sense if it's not a full frame mirrorless but an EOS-M mirrorless as Canon in the past has announced up to and including in December.
For a new full frame mirrorless, Canon could be waiting until the hype dies down a bit from the Nikon announcements to launch their own. Time will certainly tell, as we have seen from the registrations, there's two camera bodies coming of some form from Canon in the short term.
Again, from Canon Rumors;
We’re told that most of the mirrorless hype will belong to Nikon ahead of Photokina next month. A solid source is saying that no official announcement in regards to a full frame mirrorless camera from Canon will happen before Photokina next month.
While we couldn’t confirm an announcement date, we’re told that October 2018 continues to get mentioned as a possible month in which Canon will address mirrorless. Though that may not necessarily mean an announcement for a full frame mirrorless camera.
